Just heard that the museum's open house was quite quaint and fun to attend. This Saratoga museum has an annual open house the day after Thanksgiving, which includes the main street businesses. Must see and hear at the museum--even during rainy weather: the Christmas tree was twinkling in the window; the museum was filled with the sounds of the Skillet Likkers, and home-made cookies and hot cider provided Christmas cheer. A few docents enjoyed pre-Open House decorating and baking the cookies, as well as guiding visitors through the museum and the McWilliams' 1860 home and performing with the Skillet Likkers. Well, there is always next year! |
